Polycarbonate (PC)

Polycarbonate (PC) plastic, is a engineering thermoplastic known for its exceptional strength, impact resistance, and optical clarity.

Polycarbonate offers a unique combination of properties, including excellent dimensional stability, high heat resistance, and inherent flame retardancy, making it a sought-after material for a wide range of applications across industries such as automotive, construction, electronics, and medical devices.

Its superior light transmission and resistance to UV radiation also make it an ideal choice for transparent components and glazing applications. 

  • High Impact Resistance: PC boasts exceptional impact resistance, making it suitable for applications requiring durability and safety, such as protective eyewear, automotive components, and security glazing.

  • Heat Resistance: With a high glass transition temperature (around 147°C or 297°F), PC maintains its mechanical properties and dimensional stability even under elevated temperatures.

  • Optical Clarity and UV Resistance: Polycarbonate offers outstanding light transmission and transparency, comparable to glass, while also providing resistance to UV radiation. This makes it an excellent material for use in applications such as glazing, light fixtures, and optical lenses.
